I had just lost the walking challenge with the Mayor of Kentville and their was a message for me to call, excuse me if I get this wrong, Doris. I called and she was a nice lady who really wanted to help me beat the Mayor and wanted to donate to the cause. I told her unless she had $500 I still lose, but she gave me a 10 spot to donate to the Heart and Stroke foundation. I thought that was pretty cool so I went to New Minas to get the cash.
Me and my radio buddy!I was lucky enough to host a benefit for Crystal Taylor who needs a double lung transplant and has to go to Toronto to get it. We raised more than we had hoped for. I do have to say thank-you for giving me all the credit for this fund raiser, but seriously all I did was promote it. When I called Crystal she told me the Berwick Lions were doing something for her, and she got me in contact with Howard Hall from the Berwick Lions. He said they were doing the supper and I said I would help out the best I can. I brought a couple of buddies who could play guitar, Me, Jen and some high hopes and away we went.
This is Matt Millet who had to play a show tonight at the Kentville Legion, but took his time out to play as a favour to me. Matt has played several fund raisers I have been at, and he is working on his own original stuff too.
Here are the movers and shakers. dozens of volunteers, 500 lbs of potatoes, 150 lbs carrots and turnip, 12 Jimmy Lamb Hams, 35 lbs peas, 15 lbs raisins, and 10 gallons of ice cream. That's a lot of cooking!

I bet their wives can't get them to watch the dishes at home!
These Lions too, I wonder how often they do this at home?
The Lion's Hall turned over twice. The place was packed and the service was great!
Some of the draw items from Shay Tire and Canada Post.
MLA and friend Leo Glavine helping the cause.
Matt Millet was playing to a full house, and so did Kevin Davison, I just didn't take any pics of Kevin. Oops!
This is me and Crystal Taylor and her common law husband Tim. Tim and I actually worked together at the Wandlyn Inn years ago!
Everyone wanted to talk to Crystal, it was her first time out since Dec 17 last year.
This was the promotional poster.
This was hanging on the bulletin Board, and I guess it's been there for a while!
Here's Crystal with just some of the Lions who helped with the supper!
When the work was done, then the lions eat!
This is a video of the cheque presentation.
Acadia played Game 2 of their Semi-final Series Friday night, and Lost to St. Mary's who were on fire, plus capitalized on Acadia Mistakes. Here's some of the pics of the game.

Waiting with Kevin Davison to sing Oh Canada so I can get my wireless mic back. He'll be singing it at the Brier too.
Getting ready for the pre game ceremony.
Timbits Hockey between the 1st and 2nd.
John Decoste is everywhere I go, I think he's stalking me or something! He's taking pics for his article on the Acadia game.
It was Century 21 night, and since they are a major sponsor of Ridgefest they gave 2 tickets away at the game. You can hear her win every 30 days on AVR, and she won the tickets at the Acadia Arena. Rub her head for luck sometime, you might win the 6/49! Her name is Rowena Walsh. She is just really lucky.
Going to Martock tomorrow, hope to see you there if it doesn't rain.
