GETTING READY TO FISH, GETTING READY TO BBQ, GARDENING, HOCKEYVILLE AND MY DOG FINALLY HAS THE STINK BLOWN OFF HER!

I went golfing with Jen, my friend/co-writer Evan Banks and his Girlfriend Jackie on Friday, but I forget to bring the camera! It was a lot of fun at the Above Par Golf Course in Nictaux, I didn't do too bad for the fist time out, although I did get a sunburn.

This is the last bit of snow at my place, but after Friday it was gone!

Saturday was a long day. I went to visit my neighbour and longtime friend Jeff Fiske. Jeff and I go back to working for Bragg Communications together. He owns a horse farm down the road from me and I need some "firtilizer" for my garden and not only will he give me the horse poop, he's gonna till my garden for me too. What a nice fella!

Went to get my fishing permit after Jeff's! I want to get out to check out my gear even though it's too early for bass.

Me and my permit in front of the cruiser.

My dog Pepe loves to fish, she just never gets anything but old sticks...wait a minute, she's getting the same as me!

Raking in the garden. I know the lady we bought the house from, Hope Waylen, has friends that read this blog. I don't know what these flowers were on the side of the shed, but I hope they come back!
Even more raking.

I won't go near the compost! Call me a baby, whimp, sookie, I don't care, it just smells so bad I almost get sick when I open it. I get Jen to do all the composting.

Cutting off the dead ends so I can have pretty nice flowers again this year.

LAWRENCETOWN REALLY IS HOCKEYVILLE

GETTING OFF THE HIGHWAY WITH THE RETINAS BURNT OUT OF OUR EYES BECAUSE THE SUN WAS SO BRIGHT!

NSCC Lawrencetown.

Just one of the posters at the rink Saturday night.

George and Colleen getting ready to do a live hit from the rink.

I have to admit Colleen is much shorter in person than I thought, but George is a mountain of a man.

As soon as you walk in the rink you are greeted by this sign.

This was part of the display in the canteen at the Lawrencetown Youth Arena.

Me and MP Greg Kerr.

Sitting on the bench waiting for ice time.

This table was filled with cookies until this little girl ate most of them! Where she put them I have no idea!

The Zamboni that stated the who Hockeyville experience.

Outside the fire hall on the big night!

This is what it looks like inside one of the CBC satellite trucks.

George getting ready to do a live hit from the Lawrencetown Youth Arena.

Me and Jen with a big name from the NHL, a guy who got into his fair share of fights, and he was a Montreal Canadien! This is George Laroque, and he's a big boy!

What a crowd on hand, you have to listen to the videos to understand how loud they were!

Thanks goes to the Roberts family, Keith V and Lynn Roscoe who did the best they could to get Lawrencetown to become Hockeyville!

There was all kinds of free stuff.

Me and Stephen McNeil

Hockey on the big screen, and his children to run and get the hotdogs! Maybe there is something to this broken foot thing!

The students put together a big display in the canteen area.

This jacket wasn't from last year!

There was even a couple of live bands who got in on the action!

The big thanks goes to these guys!

The most narrow rink in Canada!
Todd was checking out the big name politicans like Stephen McNeil how is from the area.
That's Larry Powell in the front from the Village Commission.

Here's the owner of Fundy Ford getting his pic he just won from an auction the Hockeyville folks asked me to do for them.
He paid $950 for it!

Making the hotdogs!

Me, Colleen Jones, Jen and crusier driver Charles Huntley.

Getting ready for the big news.

Giving thanks to the fire department who helped with the promotion.

This jacket is being worn by my friend Jeff Fiske, I had some more pics to take so I didn't get his face in hopes that my camera wouldn't break!

This camera guy stood there for at least an hour!

The Hockeyville guys got the crowd pumped up!

Oops! Forgot this one of the rink!

This is what they used before the Zamboni. Not much use at all!

George signed everything including the toilet paper I think!

George had one last friend to make!

WASHING THE DOG SUNDAY

To end off the nice weekend, we thought since it was warm and the dog needed to have some stink blown off, that it was time for her yearly if she needs it or not bath. Here's Jen hitting her with the hose water.

I don't know if the dog will ever come to me again after this trauma!

Monday a big tribute to Lawrencetown, what else is there to talk about?
