Scallop Days Cont'd

As promised, here are Sunday's events and pictures. All day long was Street Fest, where they closed Water Street down to traffic and had a farmer's market, show and shine, buskers, vendors, and all kinds of other attractions to browse. There was also a Woodsman Competition at the Heritage Centre, and a Scallop Shucking / Scallop Net Knitting competition at 3. After, I headed home because it had been an intensly hot day where I had drank about 4 L of fluids (mostly Jones 24C, an iced cap and water) and eaten an iced cream sandwich to try and cool off. Not necessarily cooling me off, but for a good cause was the MOPS (Mothers On Playground Society picnic being held at Fisherman's Memorial Park, where I got a sausage and educated listeners about the playgound they are fundraising to build.

Water Street all shut down and ready to go.

Shaggy snaps spondor sodas by the seashore.
Sawdust flies during the Woodsman (could have been Woodsperson) competition.

Scallops fly during the Scallop Shucking Contest. Paul Gidney, not pictured, won the event.

Chevy Camaro that won the Queen's Choice award at the Belliveau Motors Show & Shine, owned by Alan Comeau (shown below with his plaque).

As promised, here's a few videos I took of buskers Saturday afternoon/evening. The man doing pogo tricks is Daniel Mahoney from Truro and the one with the fire whip I believe is Rob Bloor; I walked in halfway through his performance. I can't put too much up or it would spoil their acts, but next year at Scallop Days or anytime you come across buskers you're in for a show.
