Annapolis Valley EX wrap up. I still smell horse poo!

I can not say enough about how much fun it was at the EX, nor can I say enough on how friendly the people were. I met hundreds of AVR Morning Show listeners, and none of them threw anything at me, so I guess they like the show. I heard "it's so nice to put a face to the voice" all week. You know what, it's just as nice for me to put a face to the listeners of the show. I had people from 8 to 80 come over and say hi, and it was so nice to see you. As you can well imagine, we as announcers don't get to see the reaction of the little jokes we tell, but when we are in public and you tell us, that is our reward. Keep listening and I will keep the entertainment rolling. Thank you so much for all the cheers every time I went to announce something and for cheering me on at the farmers challenge, I couldn't have done it without you.

I have to give a shout out to Brian Molcher, he was everywhere taking pics of the EX. If you didn't know how to get the pictures from an event you or a friend were in, then you can get a hold of Brian at 584-3690 or 824-2242. He can get you a copy of every event. Just so you think any of these pics are from Brian, no Jen or I took them, so they might not be the best quality, or as good as Brian's!

Special thanks to Jeff Fiske and Peter Pinch who made us feel part of the heavy horse community, and turning us on to the rolling thunder part of the show, it was one of the coolest things Jen and I have ever done. Thanks to Bau from the Bau Loc restaurant who made us eat our veggies in a deep fried world too! He has the best Chinese food in the valley, try out his restaurant in Kingston across from the old Foodland parking lot. Skip, as always you are an EX expert, and to John Eakin, you kept Len in line. I can't forget the St. John's Ambulance guys, because after the farmer's challenge me and Hunter Brule were almost ready for a trip to the hospital, farmer's are my new heroes! Bobby Best for helping with our cattle show, and congrats on winning the Grand Champion Steer Competition again. Oh yeah, all the people from the EX front office, you guys are great! Sorry for the window thing in the announce booth Wednesday night!

Enjoy the pics we took, and hopefully you take away as many good memories of the EX as we did! I can't wait for 2010!

Shane Yellowbird from the top of the hill!

Me and Hunter Brule bringing on the Stampeders.

This is the only pic I have of Jeff Fiske, he was too busy holding 8 horses to stop me!

The good ol boys jawin' about the EX at the heavy horse barn!

Shane Yellowbird!

I couldn't believe the teen aged fans there for Shane.

Shane loves to dance!

John Eakin, the stage manager for the EX never say as many people on the lawn for any performance as there were for Canada's Stampeders. We are guessing between 6 and 7 thousand, and the band was excellent!

A great show with all their hits!

Peter Pinch and me hooking up the rolling thunder. 65 feet of reigns and tons of horse power.
OK, I just stood there and about 10 others hooked up the 8 horses including my good buddy Jeff Fiske on the reigns.

This years EX Idol winners including Elizabeth Furnis the 1st place winner!

The crowd at the EX Idol Competition.

AVR's Len Hawley is Mr. Ex and he really worked hard this week keeping all of us organized to what events were where and who to talk to. Here's Lenny at the John Longley dedication.

Lenny had his daughters on the midway, and all he won them was the 2 fish he's holding. Come on Len, go for the big prize!

Len getting off the Spider ride on the midway.

A serious moment at the EX with John Longley's children.

Len on the scrambler.

Andrew Foote and I sang happy Birthday to Debbi.

Sticker Patrol at the Lawrencetown Fire Hall!

Jump horsey jump!

Baby cow! Does it get any more cute than that?

These guys thought I could win them a good prize in the strength test at the midway, apparently I sound much stronger on AVR than in real life!

I am having a problem getting the videos up today, so I'll try later to up load them for you! I have videos of Me bringing on Shane Yellowbird, the farmers challenge, the rolling thunder and Rachel Mclean at the dedication of the Riverside stage. Keep reading, and I'll have more for ya!
