THE KINGS IS ALIVE...IN THANE DUNN

I am lucky enough to call some pretty cool people my friends, and Thane Dunn is one of them. If my girlfriend wasn't in to Elvis so much (we have an Elvis room at our house) Thane and I would have probably just been 2 people who met and had a good time, but because we are connected so much with Elvis, we have just been so in tune with each other. This is the 4th time I have seen Thane live, and the 2nd time I have seen this particular show. Always a great time with Thane too! Can't wait to see you again! He had 5 costume changes, and for a full look backstage and the show join me on Facebook to see them!

These are the VIP winners Dora Eddy and her friend, Thane Dunn and my son Alex Parker.

DRIVE ONE FOR YOUR SCHOOL AT DIGBY HIGH

Thanks to John, the 2 Bens, patty and the whole crew at Digby Regional High. I don't think there is a tighter group of teachers in the world than are at this school! They have so much fun and care so much for the kids, it was just fun to be there! I'll have how much they raised on the AVR Morning Show Monday!
To see all the pics I took join me on Facebook!

I love Annapolis Valley politicians, and here is one of my favorites! Jr. Theriault speaks his mind whether he is right or wrong, but the big thing is, whether he is right or wrong, he is 99.9% of the time speaking the thoughts of the people in his riding! Great guy!

JOHN HALLIDAY FUND FUND RAISER

Every once and a while not only do I lend my support to a cause to help them out, I actually get involved in the fund raising process. When I heard the story of little John, my hear sank and I just had to help out! John is a little 4 year old from Annapolis County who has no mussel control in his neck and can't fit in a car seat safely anymore. His parents are trying to raise money for a wheel chair van so they can take him out of his house, as of now it is not safe to take John out because there are not any car seats big enough with neck support for him any more. If you can help him out stop into your nearest branch of the Royal Bank and donate, he deserves it!
Join me on Facebook for all the photos!

Here's a shot of me and John! I told him he looks bigger in pictures than I thought, and that people never tell me that I look like my voice either!

Monday I will have a weekend round up and get you set for another exciting week in the Annapolis Valley!

A SUPER HERO AND A TROPHIE TO A COMMUNITY VOLUNTEER

A REAL SUPER HERO!
I get to meet all kinds of people who do all kinds of things for their community, but here is a real super hero...meet Mataya

THE DONNIE NEVILLE MOST VALUABLE PERSON AWARD IN MEMORY OF MY DAD

My father has left a community legacy for me to follow in, and he now has 2 awards in his name. There is the Donnie Neville Hockey Trophy presented 2 times a year to the most sportsman like player in the Greenwood Oldtimers Tournament, and now the Donnie Neville MVP trophie for community participation. It is an amazing honor to have these trophies named after my father because of what they stand for. My father was always one not just to live in a community, but to make it better. If it was coaching hockey or softball, or donating blood, or even just helping a person cross the street my father went that extra mile for everyone around him. I hope I refelect the way i was brought up and that I serve my community as well as my dad did.

SUNSET AND SOMETHING I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT!

We are blessed with one of the best views in the entire Annapolis Valley, although we pay for it in the winter with the highest snowfall in the Annapolis Valley, and I just wanted to share it with you. These pictures can not truly show you the feel you get when looking at this in real life, but they do capture the image well enough.

Here's looking down the mountain from our side yard.

These are an amazing sunset from last week. I can see this from my dining room table every night.

GARDENING AT OUR HOUSE
Now just because you want to do something doesn't mean you can do something. I am the worst at saying, "Oh yeah you just do this then that and it's all done. Too easy!" I have watched my mother garden for years, how hard can it be? A gift card from Christmas and away Jen and I went to get stuff for the lawn. Have I ever done any of the projects I was about to do? Absolutely not. Did I watch a how to video or read a book on how to do them? Why! I had a shovel, a wheel barrow and no rain. What more do I need other than a trip to the local Garden Center. Here's what I wanted to get done...
1/. fill the holes left in my lawn by the snow plow.
2/. put red ceder mulch by the rose bush.
3/. transplant 3 yucca plants into center garden
4/. take out yellow leafy plant from center garden and put by bird bath with other yellow leafy plant.
5/. put red ceder mulch on center garden
6/. dig up and transplant rhododendron to better place to grow.
7/. clean up and tidy up around the yard.
How long could this take? An hour, hour and a half? I'm in!

Here's our beautiful rose bush! Now the bush was always there, and I should preface this entire thing by saying that when we bought this house, Hope Waylen, the previous owner had done an amazing job on the gardens and lawns. What I did was dig up the grass around the bush and use that sod for filling in the spots that the snow plow dug up this year. This whole project took about 3 hours on my own, Jen helped for about 20 minutes and got bored!

Once again the bird bath and the little yellow leafy plant were already there, I just dug up the bigger yellow leafy plant and transplanted it with the other one. This project took about a half an hour.

I had to rescue this little rhododendron from the weeds around it. I had to cut it free, dig it up and transplant it in a spot that will let it grow to be big and strong like the other 2 we have on the lawn. This took about 45 minutes to do.

This was the all day project here. I took the yellow leafy plant out of here making way for the 3 yucca plants that I dug up from another garden I closed this year. I have 2 more bush type plants I offered to my aunt who just moved here from Calgary, but if she don't taken em this week I'm just gonna put them by the road to give away. Then Jen did help me put this wonderful ceder mulch on the center garden to make it stand out.

So after a whole day affair on the front lawn, I hope it looks better!
