BERWICK LIONS PICS AND ANOTHER DAY OF GIVING AWAY BEEF AT SOBEY'S

It was on the road right after the AVR Morning Show, and today it was off to Windsor and the Sobey's there. I was armed with 2 $50 Sobey's Gift cards, and while I was cleaning out the AVR Community Cruiser I found 2-2 day passes to the Halifax Country Rocks the Commons concert with Alan Jackson this August, so I gave those away too. This brings my 3 day total to almost $600 in prizes I have given away just this week for having an AVR Win Sticker on your car. When you see the AVR Community Cruiser, get your sticker, or if you have scrapped them off with the frost one morning, get another and be ready to win. With at least 8 days of country concerts coming up this summer, I would get a sticker on my car to at least get my name in the ring. No Sticker, no winning.

He won the $50 in beef from www.beefinfo.org in the form of a $50 gift card from Sobey's. She was the lucky winner of the Johnny Reid/Alan Jackson Halifax Country Rocks the Commons tickets.

Now I love it when you send me your pics of the events I was at so I can put them up on my blog. These pictures were sent in by a really nice fella I just met through the Lion's Clubs, and he is Howard Hall. He is a super nice fella and he sent me some pics of BINGO live in the AVR Studio last Monday night (you can see by the clock on the wall this was taken in the middle of a game) and the Crystal Taylor fund raiser I helped promote. I think after this I'll have to call him a friend! Thanks for the pics Howard, and you enjoy them.

Me and King Lion (aka: "Butta" (at the Lion's Drive In he is the king of Butter)) Kirk Longmire. Kirk is a good friend, and he likes to tell this story about me. Last year we met up at the Annapolis County Ex in Lawrencetown, and we were just talking about doing stuff, how the day was going and he was grilling me on when I could find time to go to the Drive In. After we finished talking I went to the AVR Broadcast Center on the Ex grounds, and a lady standing with Kirk asked him a question. As best I can remember, this is how it went...

lady - Excuse me sir but was that Jerry Neville?

Kirk - (thinking nothing of it it) Yeah

lady - The guy on the radio? Oh wow you are lucky!

Kirk - (stunned) OK

Kirk s then tells me, "It was then that I knew I was friends with a real celebrity!" I nearly fell to the floor laughing. I like to say my job is no different than yours, I just talk between records and you sell stuff.

We served a ton of people! We raised over $4000 too!

The Lion's crew from the dinner, and there were about 20 more volunteers to make this happen too. It was a really great time!

Tomorrow on the show, Kentville's March break programs, Stewie Griffin's take on the new Alice in Wonderland Movie, and more chances to win. I am out tonight at the EKCC Awards in case AVR wins anything, wish me luck!
