HOW I SPENT MY DAY OFF AND A CHRISTMAS MIRACLE

As per usual I messed up the order of the pictures, so the story will seem a little out of wack. I'll start out Saturday afternoon. Jen and I took a drive to Greenwood to visit with my Ma, my sister and my middle nephew Matt Piper. Matt plays Atom Rep Hockey in Greenwood, and although all the men in my family play hockey, he can out skate, out play and out think us all! So these are the pics from that little outing.

My nephew Matt Pipher scoring his second of 3 goals on the day. I have only scored 2 goals in my life!

This is the arena in Greenwood that they are planning on replacing in partnership with the county and the Village.

Driving up to 14 Wing Greenwood you can't mistake you are going on an air force base.

There's the welcome sign to the Wing.

Before the game Jen and I did some shopping...

...and had breakfast all in one stop before going to Greenwood. If you order the Banana crepe, it's good for 2, trust me!
OK, here's where the time line gets wonky!?! Axeman Zack MacMillan came on the AVR Morning Show Friday to sing a song. What, sing a song? Yep and it was one he wrote himself too. He was promoting his appearance on the Christmas Miracle and talk about the hockey game he was playing later that night. Suffice it to say, he scored his first goal of the season and the Axemen went on to win in overtime. What a game!

Here's a shot of the clock just before overtime.

Here's Zack and me in studio.

Zack playing in the music corner.

He likes it!

My buddy Matt Millet cranked out a couple of tunes.

Hunter and the new panel of judges for Amercian Idol.

Jen and some guy.

He must be important, everyone was getting their pics done with him.

Donna and Andy performing live. They were really nice.

Here's Laura Roy and her guitar picker buddy. She has such a great voice, and she just recorded a CD too. If you have a chance to see her play live, get out to it. She will thrill you with her voice.

Ops Manager Mike Mitchell and Media Consultant Di Best. That's the tall and short of it all!

Hunter Brule and AVR Morning Show regular Denis Wilson and MLA Leo Glavine. Leo plays hockey and soccer with the AVR Misfits.

Andrew Johnson General Sales Manager, Denis Wilson and Ops Manager Mike Mitchell. Denis was presenting the station with an award the Kinsmen got for their bike rally last summer. It was a big honor to be part of all it, and this year Denis and I are going to do something crazy!

Zack and the Zackattack. These guys all play for the Acadia Axemen.

Amanda Misner and her Radiothon crew.

Hughie Mc Donnell and his buddy singing the Shopping at Frenchy's song.

Scott and Ryan are the Hupman Brothers and this is the 5 time they have performed for AVR or our sister station Magic 94.9. They are excellent, so make time to see them, you'll thank me later.

Amanda Misner and future Mayor of Cheverie Scott Brison.

Here's a success story. She started out as a work study student, and with her drive and willingness to learn, she is going to be a force to be reckoned with. Her name is Erin Sullivan and you can hear her on CFAB 1450 on the morning show and on the weekend she doesn't rest, she works for our sister station Magic 94.9. Watch for her doing big things in the future.

click on the link above and that will take you to my friend Andrew's website kentvilletoday.com. There's lots of great local stuff on there, including a little show we are devloping on community events. There are a ton of vids of the Christmas Miracle Radiothon, so go over and take a look, he's got some neat stuff.
